Speciality Ink Printing

Glow and Puff are making a massive comeback!
– Its the early 90’s all over again!

Puff Ink Additive Printing

A puff additive reacts with heat, and expands. This gives a truly unique appearance, it does however reduce the ability for ink to adhere to stretch – Puff is more pronounced on lighter fabrics and can have low areas.

Puff printing is making a massive come back. Nearly every major brand seems to be doing a puff printed t-shirt or hood – It’s the early 90’s all over again!

IMPORTANT PUFF PRINTING CONSIDERATIONS

• Colour Matching
Due to the expansion and the fact there is even an additive added means that a true colour match is simply not possible. Expect variance between batches and a duller overall print.

• Longevity
Puff ink will not stretch like standard inks, it is also more prone to rubbing and scratching damage. However with a little extra care your print can last well.

• Consistency
Due to the nature of the process consistency within job and between batches is impossible to maintain. As such the puff factor may differ shirt to shirt and the puffed area will vary within the same print.

• Pricing
Due to the additive used there will be a surcharge to printing puff.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Always follow your garments washing instructions + care instructions for printed garments.

• Cold water wash – Inside out
As with any print of any type, only cold water wash.
Do so inside out
– This is especially important with Puff Ink as you do not want the print rubbing against coarse fabrics in the wash.

• Never Iron – Never Use a Tumble Dryer

If any of this is an issue we recommend avoiding specialty inks.

Glow Ink Printing

Glow ink can be a great effect in low light/dark, it also reacts to black light.

Glow can be a fantastic to make a portion of your design standout in low light. It does need to be ‘charged’ however.

IMPORTANT GLOW PRINTING CONSIDERATIONS

Glow ink is a slightly off white when printed and glows green.

• Longevity
The glow effect requires ‘charging’, sun is absolutely the best for this.
It will also glow in blacklight.

• Pricing
Glow ink is priced differently to our standard inks.
